On Ramp

Every CrossFit newcomer will be required to attend On-Ramp classses at Metairie CrossFit before being allowed to join the regular class schedule. The purpose of the On-Ramp program is to get new CrossFitters up to speed on our basic movements and skill development, while laying the foundations for progression into more advanced movements. It is designed to prepare you to enter our ongoing group classes. We are going to be hammering technique, both to ensure your safety and success at the next level. We will introduce you to technique and mechanics first, then intensity. Our trainers will teach you movements, starting with relatively non technical movements and gradually  progressing to more technical ones. It is crucial that you are here for all sessions as these movements build upon one another.

Our trainers will guide you through four 1-hour sessions to ensure you are ready to enter the regular CrossFit classes.

There will be a WOD at the end of each session where we will be  implementing a skill(s) learned during that session.

The difficulty of these workouts is ultimately in your hands…the degree that you push yourself will determine how much you will be challenged. The class is called “On-Ramp” for a specific reason: we want to ramp you up to the level of intensity and technical proficiency that is inherent in our group classes.

Shifts in body composition are one of the most motivating ways to measure success. We highly encourage you to take “Before” pictures at the beginning of the On-Ramp Program in order to better track your progress as your overall health and fitness level improves.
